As we pivot to the next series, we begin to deepen many of the concepts that we’ve been working with. We also begin to turn away from being self-concerned in our practice and process and begin considering the well-being of others. This lays the groundwork for the heart-awakening of the next course.

JOURNAL PROMPT: WEEK 6
As mentioned in the talk, your task for this week is to go on an “acts of kindness binge”. For 3-7 days, commit one act of kindness — except not “random”; please make it totally intentional.
It can be as simple as a really thoughtful email.
It can be a grand gesture.
It will be especially meaningful if it entails anticipating someone’s needs (e.g. you know someone is about to have a challenging day of some sort so you do something thoughtful for them on that day).
It can be sending someone $5 on Venmo for a cup of coffee.
It could be really listening without thinking about what to say next or getting antsy when you haven’t had a chance to talk in a while.
What matters is that it’s authentic. Authenticity = our minds and hearts are aligned with our behaviors. Inside and outside match. It will also help if it’s an act that takes you out of your comfort zone a little bit (please be reasonable here).
There is so much science on the positive effects of this. Do this for at least three consecutive days and notice the impact it has on you.
